BBMT Tag
Automate production tagging in Cadwork. BBMT Tag generates ply values, fractional dimensions, production tags, material sections, and quantities for selected timber-framing elements—keeping model, list, and IFC data accurate and consistent.
BBMT Tag is a Cadwork productivity plugin designed to automate the preparation of timber-framing and production data. With a single command, it analyzes the selected elements in the 3D model and automatically generates structured, consistent information across Cadwork User Attributes 5–10.
The plugin calculates real width, height, and length in fractional inches, identifies ply information, creates standardized production tags, formats material and stock-section descriptions, counts elements sharing the same production number, and assigns floor or level information. It supports common timber products such as SPF, Douglas Fir, pressure-treated lumber, LVL, rim board, TJI joists, sheathing, and other dimensional or engineered wood materials.
BBMT Tag also interprets Cadwork production-number ranges and group naming conventions to generate meaningful identifiers for walls, blocking, floor and roof framing, and floor trusses. It can manage different ply configurations, letter suffixes, notched indicators, quantities, and specialized tags such as blocking and floor-truss references.

User 5 — Ply: Ply value extracted from the element information.
User 6 — Real W/H/L: Actual element dimensions formatted in fractional inches.
User 7 — Production Tag: Standardized tag generated from the group or production number.
User 8 — Section / Material: Consistent material and purchasing-section description.
User 9 — Quantity: Number of matching elements by production number and configuration.
User 10 — Level: Automatically generated floor or level designation.
By eliminating repetitive manual attribute entry, BBMT Tag helps produce cleaner Cadwork models and more reliable data for production lists, IFC exports, reporting, coordination, and downstream fabrication workflows. Only active elements are updated, allowing users to control exactly which parts are processed.
Important: BBMT Tag overwrites User Attributes 5–10 on the active elements. The plugin displays a confirmation message before processing begins.
